Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover), CareCredit, and Scratchpay. Payment is expected at time of service.
Pet Insurance: We accept all pet insurance! We'll provide you with detailed invoices and medical records to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We can also work with Trupanion for direct payment if you have their policy.
Financing Options: We partner with CareCredit and Scratchpay to offer flexible payment plans for larger expenses. Apply online or in our officeโmany approvals happen in minutes.
Your first visit will include a comprehensive physical examination, discussion of your pet's medical history, and development of a preventive care plan. We'll check weight, temperature, heart and lung sounds, dental health, and overall body condition. Depending on your pet's age and history, we may recommend vaccinations, parasite testing, or bloodwork. Plan for the appointment to take 30-45 minutes.
Yes! Dr. Emily Rodriguez specializes in exotic animal medicine and treats birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, reptiles, and other exotic pets. We have specialized equipment and experience with these unique patients. Please mention your pet's species when booking so we can schedule with the appropriate veterinarian.
Call us immediately if your pet is experiencing: difficulty breathing, seizures, collapse or inability to stand, bleeding that won't stop, ingestion of toxins or foreign objects, severe vomiting or diarrhea (especially with blood), urinary blockage (straining without producing urine), eye injuries, bloated abdomen, or extreme pain. When in doubt, call usโwe're here to help you decide if your pet needs immediate care.
Call our office at least 48 hours before you run out. We can refill medications for current patients who have been examined within the past year. For some medications, we may require a recheck exam. Refills can be picked up at our pharmacy or we can call them in to a human pharmacy if the medication is available there.
We work with CareCredit and Scratchpay, which offer financing options for veterinary care. CareCredit offers 6-month no-interest financing for charges over $200, and longer-term plans for larger amounts. Scratchpay offers 4-24 month payment plans with quick approval. You can apply online before your visit or we can help you apply in the office.
For routine exams and consultations, we encourage you to stay with your pet. For procedures like nail trims, blood draws, or minor treatments, some pets do better if owners step out brieflyโwe'll let you know what works best. For surgery and dentistry requiring anesthesia, pets are in our surgical area. We'll call you with updates and you can pick them up when they're ready to go home.
We operate primarily by appointment to minimize wait times and give each pet adequate attention. However, we always accommodate sick pets who need same-day careโjust call ahead so we can work you into the schedule. Emergency cases are seen immediately upon arrival. Walk-ins for minor services like nail trims may experience longer wait times.
All boarding pets must be current on vaccinations: rabies, distemper, and bordetella for dogs; rabies and FVRCP for cats. Dogs must have a negative fecal test within the past year. Pets must be free of external parasites (fleas/ticks). We offer medical boarding for pets requiring medications or post-surgical care. Boarding spaces fill quickly during holidays, so book early!
