Common Questions

I've never done yoga before. Where should I start? +

Welcome! We recommend starting with our Gentle Flow or Hatha classes, which are designed for all levels including complete beginners. Our instructors offer modifications for every pose, and there's no expectation of flexibility or experience. Just come as you are, and we'll guide you through everything. Many of our regular practitioners started as absolute beginners—you're in good company!

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga? +

Absolutely not! That's like asking if you need to be clean to take a shower. Yoga is the practice of becoming more flexible—both physically and mentally. You'll start exactly where you are, and with consistent practice, you'll notice improvements. Props like blocks and straps help make every pose accessible, no matter your current range of motion.

What's the difference between Vinyasa and Hatha? +

Hatha yoga holds poses for longer (typically 5-10 breaths), giving you time to refine alignment and build strength in stillness. It's slower-paced and great for beginners. Vinyasa links poses together in a flowing sequence synchronized with breath, creating more of a "moving meditation." It's more dynamic and cardiovascular. Both styles offer wonderful benefits—try both to see what resonates with you!

Do I need to reserve a spot or can I drop in? +

We accept both! Online reservations guarantee your spot and are recommended for popular evening and weekend classes. Walk-ins are always welcome based on availability—just arrive 10 minutes early so we can get you set up. For Hot Yoga classes, we strongly recommend reserving in advance as space is limited in our heated studio.

What if I have an injury or physical limitation? +

Please let your instructor know before class about any injuries or conditions. All our teachers are trained to offer modifications and alternatives for every pose. Yoga can actually support injury recovery when practiced mindfully. For specific concerns, we recommend a private session first, where we can create a personalized practice that supports your healing.

Can I bring my own mat? +

Of course! Many regular practitioners prefer their own mat. We also provide high-quality studio mats that are cleaned after every class. If you're just starting out, feel free to use ours until you decide what type of mat you prefer. Our boutique carries a curated selection of eco-friendly mats if you'd like to purchase your own.

How often should I practice? +

The best frequency is whatever you can sustain consistently. Even once a week creates meaningful benefits. Most of our members practice 2-4 times per week, mixing different class styles for balance. Listen to your body—some weeks you might want more dynamic practices, other weeks more restorative. The key is showing up regularly, not pushing yourself to exhaustion.

What's your cancellation policy? +

We understand life happens! Please cancel at least 2 hours before class to free up your spot for others. Late cancellations and no-shows for class pack holders will have a class deducted. Unlimited members have a 3-late-cancel per month limit. We're flexible with emergencies—just reach out and we'll work with you.
