Street parking is available on Wyandot Street and adjacent blocks. The studio is located on the ground floor of a two-story brick building. Look for the frosted glass door marked "Core Balance."
If you are biking, there is a rack directly outside. The 32 and 33 bus lines stop two blocks away at 35th & Wyandot.
Please arrive 5 minutes early for your first visit so we can show you around and get you set up on the equipment.
New Students
We recommend starting with our Intro Series ($99, 4 classes) before joining regular group classes. It gives you the foundation to get more from every session. New students who skip the foundation often feel lost in group classes. The intro series solves that.
Schedule is current as of February 2025. Book online or call to reserve your spot.

What should I wear?
Form-fitting workout clothes work best. You need to be able to see your alignment and the instructor needs to be able to see yours. Loose shorts or very baggy pants make this harder for both of you. Grip socks are required on the reformer; we sell them at the studio for $14 if you do not have a pair. No shoes in the studio.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself, your grip socks, and a water bottle. We provide everything else: mats, reformer equipment, towels, and all props. There is filtered water in the changing area. You do not need your own mat or any equipment to get started.
I am a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Yes, and we recommend beginning with our Intro Series specifically because of this. Four classes at $99 gives you the foundation to feel confident in group classes and to get more out of every session thereafter. Students who skip the foundation sometimes feel lost in group classes; the Intro Series prevents that. If you want to jump straight into group classes, our Reformer Foundations and Mat Fundamentals classes are the right place to start.
What is the difference between reformer and mat Pilates?
Mat Pilates is the original form and uses only your own bodyweight for resistance. It is deceptively challenging. The reformer uses a carriage, springs, and straps to provide resistance that can support or oppose your movement depending on the exercise. Both are rooted in the classical method. Most dedicated students practice both, and each makes the other more effective. If you can only choose one to start, begin with reformer.
I have an injury or chronic pain. Can I still take class?
In most cases, yes, but please let us know before you book. We recommend starting with private sessions if you have an active injury, post-surgical condition, osteoporosis, or any condition that requires significant modification. This lets us assess your needs properly before you join a group. Many of our most dedicated students came to us because other exercise was not working for their bodies.
What is the cancellation policy?
Group classes can be cancelled up to 12 hours before the class start time without charge. Cancellations within 12 hours or no-shows forfeit the class credit. Private and duet sessions require 24-hour cancellation notice; late cancellations and no-shows are charged in full. We keep our classes small specifically so they can fill, and last-minute cancellations make it harder for students on the waitlist to get a spot.
How quickly will I see results?
Joseph Pilates famously said: in ten sessions you feel the difference, in twenty sessions you see the difference, in thirty sessions you have a new body. Most students notice improved posture and reduced back tension within the first month. Meaningful strength and postural changes typically become visible at the six to eight week mark with two or more sessions per week.
Is Pilates only for women?
No. Joseph Pilates was a man, and his original clientele included boxers and wrestlers. Pilates builds functional core strength, hip stability, and spinal mobility that benefits every body regardless of gender. About 25% of our current students are men. The classical method is demanding in ways that tend to surprise people regardless of how fit they think they are walking in.
