Who is Zadie?

Hi. I’m Paul Zadie, and I am a freelance motion picture artist with a huge passion for storytelling. You may be asking “What’s a motion picture artist?”. Let me explain…
I have been an artist in one form or another all my life. I began drawing and painting at a young age and eventually progressed into digital media When I first started with computers, it was to dig into graphic design, which led to web design, then to Flash animation, and then on to what I do now. Post-production.
My long time love of photography and digital imaging naturally drew me to cinematography since the rest of the media I work with is in motion. That’s how I became a motion picture artist.
I have an addiction for learning and exploring the various arts and crafts of production. I believe that having a solid knowledge of all of the creative aspects of filmmaking makes me a better visual storyteller. Even though I’m not a writer, I study screenwriting regularly because it makes me a better editor. And I study visual effects because it makes me a better cinematographer. Borderline obsession? Maybe. But I love what I do.
I work on commercials, promos, music videos, narrative films, documentaries, and anything else that involves moving images and stories. Sometimes I shoot, sometimes I edit, and sometimes I rock out some graphics. When I have a bit of spare time, I produce a couple of podcasts, and I’m also the designer and owner of the premiere online t-shirt shop for filmmakers, FilmTees.com.
